Pope Leo XIV's Airplane Magisterium Isn't Working

Brian McCall and Chris Ferrara dissect Pope Leo XIV's mid-flight press conference comments dismissing sexual morality as a lesser concern in favor of "justice, equality, and freedom of men and women" what they call the "airplane magisterium," which they argue has caused more harm to the Church than ancient heresies. Drawing extensively from Pope Pius XI's 1930 encyclical Casti Connubii including its image of the Pope as a "watchtower" standing guard over the faithful they make the case that the modern papacy has abandoned its post to "come down and party with the people," producing what Brian declares is the Great Apostasy itself.
